    @Bearfaced @signalapp I would be careful running anything on #Windows11 due to that #evil #Recall "feature" they baked into it.

      @Bearfaced it's already live on 24H2, but you may be running an older version.

      @jahway603 perhaps because I don't have a copilot + PC?

      " System requirements for Recall

      Your PC needs the following minimum system requirements for Recall:

      A Copilot+ PC

      16 GB RAM

      8 logical processors

      256 GB storage capacity"

      @Bearfaced interesting as it was my understanding that Microsoft was pushing Recall to Windows 11 whether you were on a "Copilot+ PC" or not.

      Has this changed over the past month?

      @jahway603 It seems you have to "jailbreak" your version of Windows to play around with Recall on a non-Copilot+ system. And it requires an NPU for most of the AI stuff. So it looks like a lot of people have been spared! Yay!

      @Bearfaced I think you may have misinterpreted the article I shared. If you're running 24H2 of Windows 11 then you have Recall on your system.

      Microsoft never "spares" their users from surveillance. Their company has been doing it for quite some time & even Windows 10 has #surveillance built in.

      @jahway603 In fact, I meant jailbreak as in you have to persuade the window system that you've got hardware that you don't have to make it run copilot, powered, applications. On the Windows website, it says you need a co-pilot plus computer. But Tom's hardware did manage to trick Windows 11 into running copilot by "jail breaking" it somehow. I looked at the settings in my machine and I don't see any mention of it. Of course it doesn't mean that it's not there. But I think even Microsoft would get found out if they were spying on everybody with recall and hiding it. However, I do share your concerns about the security. I'll definitely research further.
