@kcarruthers I hope the US can find a peaceful way to redistribute wealth. A 21st century “terror” and Napoleon/war would be terrible. I hope you can find another FDR instead…
FDR didn't eliminate the problems of capitalism before with his reforms. Reforms aren't the solution to wealth inequality. Redistribution of wealth will have to be done through a working-class revolution, and revolutions usually aren't peaceful. Here are some books that explain why revolution is the only solution: #communism#socialism
I don't recall there being a single generation of anything resembling a "generation of egalitarian prosperity" in America. I think you're viewing America's history through rose tinted glasses. I'd suggest reading all or at least one of the books linked above to learn why reformism isn't the solution.
@Radical_EgoCom he didn’t eliminate the problems, agreed, but he did make for two generations of egalitarian prosperity. I think that’s a considerably better record than any non-democratic state in modern times @kcarruthers
Neoliberalism and socialism have nothing to do with each other. Neoliberalism is a capitalist ideology and is fundamentally opposed to socialism. How did neoliberalism make socialism worse?
