my initial non-technical impressions of bluesky: seems like a good place to follow people, specifically non-tech people, that have moved on from twitter (or are using both now) but the fediverse is much more comfortable and engaging to me for actual posting.

dave (dthompson@toot.cat)'s status on Tuesday, 19-Nov-2024 01:20:34 JST dave I deleted my twitter account many years ago, way before dipshit tesla man bought it, and was happy to just follow a few accounts via nitter. once nitter could no longer operate it was either make an "x" account or do without so I just did without. now that bluesky has taken off I can follow most of the people I used to on twitter so that's nice. sure beats threads.

dave (dthompson@toot.cat)'s status on Tuesday, 19-Nov-2024 01:48:42 JST dave @kai I think we'll be seeing a lot more technical critiques surfacing about bluesky. bluesky is not decentralized but it has built a new twitter and that's clearly what a lot of people want so I think they'll be very successful.
