It can be made to work but it just doesn't have the same energy density of a regular crop (corn). Also, hemp's time has unfortunately come and gone because synthetic rope/fabric making materials are superior still. - Bread up, Bro likes this.

But that's why I was specifying rigging - keeping stuff greased can be tough, so having something that doesn't rot is good for something where you don't have a lot of crew. But who knows, maybe changing designs and an auto-greasing machine could be something to think about.
