@evan I know this is probably beyond the scope of the question but I put qualified yes. On one hand, a feature of many services on the Social Web (SW) is granular level privacy. But one of the problem of the SW is fragmented search and discoverability. I am a persistent person but even had to work hard to build my feed. One solution might be post opt-out of search rather than opt-in. Or the same for profiles. Or maybe there needs to be a universal SW search that is opt-out. 1/2
