this morning I was annoyed with again having to manually delete too much spam from a RT instance. So I wanted to finally feed the marked-as-spam tickets into SpamAssassin.... and there go 5 hours of my life to write code to reconstruct the original mails that created tickets in RT... writing perl code for the first time in > 20 years.

@LaF0rge put some AI™️ to classify the spam and feed back another spam to the sender 😂

@LaF0rge They say that you can write perl in any language, not sure if that proverb originally included latin but now it does.

@peremen thabks, but the last thing I would ever do is to rely on some external SaaS. The whole point of always self-hosting is to not have any external dependencies [other than power and connectivity, whixh is already plenty of dependency] and hence not leak data not be exposed to their good will.

@penguin42 I actually did write a lot of perl code in the mid/late 1990s, so I usually don't have problems understanding it. It was the third programming language I learned after BASIC, Pascal [excluding x86 and 8051 asm here] Took me a really long time ovee many years to really wrap my head around C.

@LaF0rge It's so much easier to read isn't it? (Says he not knowing Latin, but having done a little Perl in the past)
