   When I say "establishment liberals will collaborate with fascism when they get even a little bit pressed" - this is the kinda shit I'm speaking to.

   They are, who we said they were. I'm not even upset because honestly fuck these people and their political party. Only stop telling me they're not fascists too because the evidence is not helping your case.

     The amazing thing to me is that they've run against this guy three times, and the ONLY time they've won, is in 2020 when they listened to their progressive wing because they were in full panic mode. They ran a right wing platform to appease fascists in both 2016 and 2024

     Yet somehow, they're convinced that that being "too woke" is why they lost. "The fascists said terrible things about us" - which they do every time anyway.

     Well, get used to losing, because you folks have no grip on reality.

     I'd rather see evidence they are planning for the future than this internal squabbling. Especially when they are once again cluelessly blaming it on progressives.

     In addition to the racist fascists out there, why they really lost (as a Harris voter making close to minimum wage told me) was economic pain. Somehow the fascists convenced voters they were better for pocket books. ("Any ship in a storm.")

     I happen to think that this is planning for the future....of retrofitting the Democratic Party back to the pre-New Deal Gilded Age policies of wooing whatever billionaires and gentrified wealthy voters they can grab from the GOP, while abandoning underprivileged and marginalized people behind to reap the whirlwind. They're moving Right because *they* always wanted to, not because Trumpster/GOP/US electorate (upper 20% consistently voting Right) wants them to.

     @Walter1964 Not a curse; but it's lonely, and isolating. If one were to define "madness" while removing the social stigma from the term, it would probably be like "being unable to agree on the basic shape and contours of reality, with most of the people around you."

     When you know the actual history of the West/Pig Empire but everyone around you is intent on maintaining polite fictions, it has a way of making it very hard to relate to other people in human ways without creating dissonance.
