This is a big question for people who are opposed to the Trump agenda. One strategy is to pick an issue that matters to you and stay focused on it. Support others in their work on other issues, but trust them to resist or make advancements, make sure to stay on top of your own.

For me, I'd say qualified yes. I want to keep focus on ending the war in Gaza and avoiding the killing and expulsion of Palestinians from Israel/Palestine. I also care a lot about climate change, so I will work however I can on that. Finally, I believe passenger trains are a big part of fighting climate change, so I'd like to pay attention to Amtrak and see how I can help.

This is at least 3 issues, so I think it's stretching the idea of focus; so, qualified yes.

I think it might sound callous to stay focused on a few topics; what about women's reproductive freedom, trans rights, the rights of immigrants, and the health of American democracy?
The challenge of this kind of focus is trusting that there are other people in your country fighting for other issues. You can give them money, attention and other support, but give additional focus -- like organizing work, physical presence at protests, and pressure on politicians -- to only certain ones.

My strong suspicion is that Trump will govern by doing a hundred crazy things at one time. That will divide and fragment the opposition as everyone scrambles to cover multiple issues … and thus responds weakly to most.
Ideally, we should map out the issues, then divvy them up and encourage various groups to focus on each hitting one or two issues hard.
That will demand a lot of organization … quite possibly more than the progressive community can muster … and then he may win.
