The job is to get elected. That's the job you sign up for when you accept the nomination. When the candidate decides that backing a genocide, funding police, jailing migrants, and hanging out with the Cheney clan is MORE important that winning "the most important election in history" - I think it's a real stretch for you to focus your ire on how stupid 10 million people are for not stepping over the bodies of dead children to cast a vote.

I'm not sure I AGREE with their decision; but I understand it, I empathize, I get how saving your own skin at the cost of again, dead children, is a hard choice.
I can't say the same for Harris, her campaign, the Democratic Party, and their donors.

@AnarchoNinaWrites If I may humbly add, these politicians trying to get elected are often lawyers, with expensive law degrees. And in a court of law, it is the lawyer's JOB to convince juries and judges. This falls firmly into the "You only had one job!" category.
And yet, all the talking-head pundits, with their ceaseless, grating, jibber-jabber, want to make it everyone ELSE'S fault that the lawyer didn't convince the jury.
(I give this speech every election season. 😆)

But that having been said, the presence of a literal genocide and thousands of dead children, makes this particular version of it... more distasteful and harder to tolerate.
I'm not a priest, nor a therapist; if they need to talk out their anger at 10M people who couldn't pull the lever for, let's be honest, some pretty valid reasons - I would prefer they do it elsewhere than my replies.

@AnarchoNinaWrites That seems to misstate the campaign plan, which was in fact, to win. Let's restate the case, in the way these positions would have been used against her - why do you assume that abandoning Israel, letting criminals run amok, opening the border to job-stealing, welfare-sucking immigrants, and rejecting bipartisan consensus on the danger posed by Trump himself would have done any better? It might well have done WORSE, losing even MORE seats in Congress and in the state-level elections.
I believe you are vastly overestimating the number of voters who would have been gained by reversing the positions you find most damning.

@AnarchoNinaWrites As I said, I was rephrasing it all IN THE WAY IT WOULD HAVE BEEN USED AGAINST HER. Not MY beliefs, but the attacks that would have been used. Hell, some of them WERE used, quite effectively, even with the campaign efforts to mitigate them by shifting right, because HER message never really got out.
I'm not seeing any signs that shifting her positions further left would have mattered a bit. The right wing has captured the information space, flooded it with lies. The mainstream media has become basically irrelevant to the old folks getting their news off Facebook and the young ones getting it from TikTok and Youtube...and they've abandoned integrity in favor of "even-handedness" anyway.
