    *shrugs*

    All you folks saying "this was inevitable because that's just the way Americans are" are arguing that you might as well join the fascists, and ignoring both that in 2020 Biden beat this guy and in 2024 Trump got 75M votes after getting 74M in 2020. He's the same guy. It was the same election. So unless in the past 4 years the country become wholly irredeemable, you're almost certainly wrong.

    Nihilism is not a strategy; or at least it's not an antifascist strategy.

      If you sincerely believe this loss was inevitable, and you think that despite all the evidence folks like me are presenting that it isn't, this is just how America is... I advise you to learn to goose step for your own protection.

      But I'm not gonna agree with you about any of that, because I think the evidence clearly states you are wrong. Just four years ago running a significantly more progressive platform, Biden got 81M votes and beat this guy. That same turnout would have beat Trump again.

      Think very carefully about what you're actually arguing here. Because on its face, it's pretty ugly and I would think you'd at least look at the evidence that you're wrong before throwing up your hands and saying "fascism was inevitable."

      That's going to be a hard pill to swallow once the bodies stack up, and you need to ask yourself who benefits from the story you're telling.

      Especially since the evidence from a mere four years ago, says it's not true.

      I get that you feel a way; but nihilism and resignation has never stopped nazis before in human history. It's indulgent. And again, factually wrong.

      75M people voted for the fascist, knowing he was a fascist, in 2024. 74M people voted for him this time. The number of fascists is not increasingly significantly, and there are more than 75M people in this country. 2020 Biden, beats 2024 Trump. You need to focus on WHY the Dem vote collapsed, not wallow in the idea that there's nothing anyone could have done.

      Or you know, don't.

      Tell yourself this was inevitable and then figure out what you're going to do to survive the inevitable rise of fascism.

      But uh... I know where that story ends, so unless you're intending to join them; maybe you oughta look at the evidence again.

      @AnarchoNinaWrites

      For your own sake don't pooh pooh your own base and voters. Don't have billionaires write your platform. Don't let your own party members unravel your agenda when you promise bipartisanship, it projects weakness and turns off voters.
