@jenny753 it's a chicken-and-egg problem – I would financially support a fork, but a fork first needs to be created for me to support it.

So yes, I would very much like someone else to do that work. Ideally someone who has contributed to Mastodon in the past and understands the project.
I don't think it's unreasonable to ask that, as a lot of people are not happy with the way the project is being managed, including long-term contributors.
We can't all do everything ourselves, after all.

That's just another way of saying you want someone else to do the work. I get there are complaints about the developer process but while forking is a right enshrined in the license it does take effort to do.
