   @xerz it isn't merely infrastructure, and monetizing/exploiting infra is a terrible idea, but it's where we are now, and it's still better than not having infrastructure. social media is terrible, but is also saves lives and helps people every day. not because of the platforms, but because communties can colonize them.

     @xerz But the future is never like the past. The shape of social media will change, and for the better, if history is any guide. I'd like to speed up that process, but more than anything that's an education task, and there's not enough people working on that right now. ☹️
