#WritersCoffeeClub Nov 11: Do you agree with Samuel Johnson, who said, "What is written without effort is generally read without pleasure"?
Most of the folks contributing to this hashtag write fiction. We tend to forget that Dr. Johnson didn't: he's best remembered as a lexicographer, but also as an editor, biographer, literary critic, etc.
In other words, his chosen fields all prioritized structure and research.
So he was RIGHT … but only in his own context: your experience may differ!
