   The anarchists who point to tribal societies as examples of functioning anarchism all commit the same logical fallacy: from the observation that chiefs resolve MOST (or even just SOME) conflicts without using force, they implicitly conclude that the same happens in ALL conflicts.

   Even in the most authoritarian modern regimes, most conflicts ARE in fact resolved without using force. Even those few that escalate to civil lawsuits. 🧵>

     Anarchism is a pipedream, like the Hyperloop, the colony on Mars, or Bitcoin. It would be wonderful if it worked as claimed; but it is obvious that it can't work.

     Belief in a pipedream is not just bad for the believers, but for everybody -- because it steals support from solutions that /would/ work. Sometimes /intentionally/ so.

     Musk launched the Hyperloop mirage only to derail the California high speed train project, which would mean less Tesla sales. 🧵>

     And Anarchists will not care to vote for good candidates, or actively protect democracy against fascism. Because, for them, Kamala and Trump are equivalent: both will be tyrants who govern by force. Isn't that so?

     And, again, that is why fascists have often used anarchists as tools, to erode public support for the democracy they want to topple. Like Beppe Grillo in Italy, who made "V for Vaffanculo" -- an open reference to "V for Vendetta" -- one of his mottos.
