As I read over posts here on Mastodon & elsewhere, I think that a very large number of people are missing the tectonic shift that just happened.

    White people have vetoed America.

Some voted for the orange shitgibbon directly, but most just didn't show up.

White people declined to preserve their nation from annihilation.

There is not a single voter who didn't know the stakes & they were cool with the fascists taking over. They know about Project 2025. They watched the previous Trump regime.

I'll leave the rest as an exercise for the reader to complete.

But you need to look at Gaza with clear eyes. What you see there is what happens when a population without a state, without rights, without protective institutions is targeted by a strongman with no conscience.

That's what we will see in the US. The nice, polite white folks who just couldn't bring themselves to vote for the smart, qualified lady in the pantsuit will avert their eyes & talk about how good the "economy" is doing.

The Supreme Court then dissolves itself & the judiciary, saying that they have no authority anymore because no Constitution.

Trump & Co say we'll keep the courts, but purge all judges not appointed by me or someone named Bush. And there is no law but what we promulgate.

Then we purge the Congress of all the "enemies within". Some folks who lost their races might be glad they aren't in DC at that particular moment.

Then we declare the military must swear loyalty to Trump directly.

Let's have a little thought experiment, shall we?

Within the first few days of his regime, Trump declares that he is suspending the Constitution for the safety of the nation.

      No legislature
      No courts
      No bureaucracy
      No rights

This is immediately challenged, perhaps even by a few GOP in Congress, & it goes through the courts. We get to the Supremes. They opine that while Trump can't *change* the Constitution, he can *suspend* it & reconstitute the government as he sees fit.

I see posts here (& elsewhere) that talk about rallying, opposing, coming back, fighting, voting the bastards out. Got news for ya, homie. Those actions take place within a relatively stable set of institutions backed by a moderately uncorrupt legal system.

They whinge on about how *if only* the Democrats had *fought* for things we believe in, we woulda/coulda/shoulda won.

Nope. Millions of ordinary white folks sat on their hands, trying to keep them clean, & have let the fascists seize all.
