   @MonniauxD - yes, that's a good reason! It's already true in Florida that trans people are required to leave the bathroom of a state university if it doesn't match the gender they were assigned at birth and an officer tells them to leave. It's a complicated law with a lot of loopholes, but it's a bad idea to hold a conference in Florida if you care about trans people. I'm picking on Florida because I just happen to have read the details in that one case. All this type of stuff may spread further with Trump in charge.

     @johncarlosbaez @llemonnier I won't be going to ACT25, but I also wouldn't if it was held in a different US state. I also didn't go to ACT23 partly because I didn't have the energy and partly because I didn't want to go to the USA in particular

     @llemonnier - unfortunately it's too late: there's a lot of planning involved in these things. But I'm going to raise the issue with the ACT steering board, that this issue should be taken into account for future meetings.

     @julesh @llemonnier - I won't be going just because I avoid air travel. I plan to fly between California and Edinburgh once a year, and that's already too much carbon emissions! If things get really bad we may quit California altogether.
