@MonniauxD - yes, that's a good reason! It's already true in Florida that trans people are required to leave the bathroom of a state university if it doesn't match the gender they were assigned at birth and an officer tells them to leave. It's a complicated law with a lot of loopholes, but it's a bad idea to hold a conference in Florida if you care about trans people. I'm picking on Florida because I just happen to have read the details in that one case. All this type of stuff may spread further with Trump in charge.

I plan to fly between California and Edinburgh once a year, and that's already too much carbon emissions! If things get really bad we may quit California altogether.
