@sickburnbro let's put industrial waste in our water supply. Nothing bad will happen.

@wishgranter14 fluoride isn't industrial waste though. it does have remineralizing capabilities - but requires much higher doses, and .. when given you aren't supposed to swallow it.
This is why when you get it at the dentist you aren't supposed to eat or drink for an hour.

Yesterday hubby was at a safety meeting. At a water treatment facility. The chemicals used were explosive. Explaining that each person needs to use these exits and wash stations is any contact. He said: The smell of chlorine was high.
He would not be near that side. But to be on the property all who does any work on site must go through the safety.
I told him he might need a Filter mask. He said they would give him one.
I did ask about the fluoride. He saw barrels of many things.
Now I am freaking out. He told me to relax.

@DMA Chemicals can be scary, but what you need to know is simply their hazards. Most are well known, SDS sheets are an example of this. "What does this chemical do when exposed to air, lit on fire, put in water" etc.
Just figure out what they use and you can figure out what is needed to safely work around them.
OSHA for better or worse pretty much mandates rules that do this, so if it isn't followed you can bring in an inspector and .. the rules will be followed.

@sickburnbro @wishgranter14 that's something that my dentist never mentioned, not even after I talked to her about the harmful effects of it

@DMA as you should, because men tend to under-estimate risks.
