   #Trump on Thursday announced that #SusieWiles, his campaign manager, would serve as WH chief of staff, as leading contenders emerged for other Cabinet roles such as attorney general.
   
“Susie Wiles just helped me achieve one of the greatest political victories in American history, & was an integral part of both my 2016 & 2020 successful campaigns,” Trump said in a statement Thurs evening that called Wiles “universally admired & respected.”

     White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters that the #Trump-Vance transition team has not yet signed onto critical memorandums of understanding w/ #FederalAgencies that green-light presidential #transition activities to ensure the future Trump administration runs smoothly.

     [Trump’s decision not to sign a memorandum of understanding w/GSA & the White House will cause delays as agencies won’t have the required heads up which individuals will deploy into their offices.]

     Sen. #MarcoRubio (R-Florida) & fmr acting director of national intelligence #RicGrenell [widely considered a deceiver & liar & someone w/scant #ForeignPolicy background] are under consideration for #Trump’s Secretary of State 🤦🏼♀️, while other previous primary opponents such as #VivekRamaswamy & North Dakota Gov #DougBurgum (R) are also in contention for Cabinet roles.

     The activity reflects the many allies jockeying for influence as Trump prepares to take office w/a #Republican-led #Senate & possibly a #GOP-controlled #House. Trump & his lts are focused on screening out people who may be #disloyal.

Wiles, 67, has led #Trump’s operation since 2021 — when he was widely viewed as a pariah after his #Jan6 #insurrection. Unlike some advisers, she has rarely battled w/him & has maintained a close rapport.
     
The announcement from Trump is the first key appointment as his transition team considers candidates for jobs in his 2nd admin that begins Jan 20.

     #MarkPaoletta, who served as general counsel in the OMB in Trump’s first term, is a contender to become #US #AttorneyGeneral…. #Paoletta was responsible for some of the Trump admin’s most controversial moves, including a delay in security assistance to #Ukraine that triggered Trump’s first #impeachment.
