It is also almost certain that 2024 will be more than 1.5°C above the pre-industrial level. It is likely, though less certain, that the it will be more than 1.55°C.
The year-to-date global-average temperature anomaly (for January–October) is 0.71°C above the 1991-2020 average, which is 0.16°C warmer than for the same period in 2023, the current warmest calendar year.
