I think Joe Biden won in 2020 because everyone was scared shitless of Covid-19 and Trump just wasn’t a very comforting figure. Remember, this is the guy who suggested we take bleach. So America had a rare moment of lucidity and voted for the guy who wasn’t insane. If we had had another plague going on now, maybe Kamala would have won too. But now we’re stuck with Bleach Guy again. Because many Americans cannot remember as far back as 2020. That’s like the Homeric Age to them.
