     @fkamiah17 @selzero There's an animated LotR that's the first book and a half (or first 3 books as they're called internally IIRC) and a different animated production of RotK in different style (with some amazing songs 😂). So it's kinda incomplete but works. I like them better than the live action films.

     @selzero I get that. I didn't read the books as a kid (The Hobbit maybe, but I don't remember). Absolutely *loved* the D&D cartoon though. I reckon it's one of the things that gave me an interest in ancient civilisations and mythology (because of Tiamat).
     Don't think I've ever seen the animated LotR either - isn't it unfinished?

     @fkamiah17 I don't know about the new movies / TV shows etc. LoTR for me is the books, and the world of Dungeons and Dragons they introduced me too. I deliberately went for a cartoon scene rather than one from the movie. They feel too cold and unattached for me. I guess it's impossible to beat that nostalgic feeling.

     @selzero I'm not a Tolkien-head at all but I started watching Rings of Power last night. It's *really* bad. Just not quite bad enough to turn off 🤷♀️ 😂
     Extremely disappointed in Morfydd Clark. Very poor.

     @fkamiah17 @selzero in all fairness, Rings of Power isn’t the best sample to dive into for Tolkien’s work. The discrepancies with the source material alone is enough to consider it fanfic
