   @troublewithwords they don't feature a T2 security chip like the later ones, so you have as free distro choices as average PCs. I don't have a suggestion tho, since my distro of choice is decidedly niche and not for casual users.

     I would like to install Linux for general use on my old Intel Macs which range from 2011-ish to 2014 models.

     What #Linux should I look at for general use on old machines without a lot of faffing about in 2024?
