   "One the voters I spoke with was Felix Garcia, a 59-year old mechanic who is Puerto Rican. He said that the racist comments a comic made at a rally about the island wouldn’t sway his vote.

   “I decided to vote for him because I’m very concerned with the economy, the border. He said he can bring the companies to implement the jobs over here. I don’t like the things they’re teaching my kids in the school. A lot of bad things,” he said."

     I've been thinking about it and I feel like a lot of this is people misinterpret the performative cruelty of the GOP as like pragmatism and a willingness to make painful but necessary choices rather than the pandering to bigots and religious nuts that it really is

     Cultural conservatism within a capitalist machine politic will always win out when the cultural liberals/"progressives" sell out their values to Rainbow Capitalism at the expense of underprivileged people....especially when they boost the mass slaughter of Black, Brown, and Middle Eastern folk for the benefit of NATO/Greater Israel/US expansionism.

     If we do not start building an Indy Left right now, it's game over. And, as you always correctly say, our planet is burning.
