The Inca people built Stone walls so tightly fitted that you couldn't slide a page of paper between the rocks - this, along with their shape, made them resistant to earthquake damage.
Here in some parts of the west of Ireland they build stone walls with gaps big enough to fit your fist through - this allows strong winds to partially pass through the walls making them less likely to be blown down.
The lengths you'll go to, to not have to rebuild a wall!! 🤣
