Y'all need to stop trying to paint pro-racism white women as the victims. They're not the victims. They're the perpetrators of about half the racism experienced by Black folk.🙋🏿♂️

I'll never understand why y'all convince yourselves election after election that white women are finally going to vote overwhelmingly against fascism, and why y'all get mad at me when I say "No they wont!" and why y'all are genuinely surprised every time when they choose fascism again.

How many "white woman goes racist" videos do y'all need to see before you believe Black folk that these women don't need to be coerced to act this way?

Half of the time I've had to deal with a racist white woman, her husband has been level-headed and super embarrassed, trying to make sure that they don't wind up on the next viral video.🤷🏿♂️

Racist people come in all genders. All. Genders.

About half of US racists are women. Women are not less likely to be racist.

      I said what I said.

@mekkaokereke I don't think people who have never lived outside of really big cities understand how blatant it is. All they know is what they've seen on TV. Their everyday world doesn't show them a different kind of person, that's more like them, than different. They feel they have to protect themselves from us dark skin people who are all the same. Shit is crazy.

For a fun time* look up what percent of US slave owners were white women.

      (*Not fun).

@mekkaokereke Lest we forget, Scarlett O’Hara was a slave owner. And one of her spiritual heirs is Sidney Powell, the crinkly old country gal who shamelessly perpetrated voter fraud with a country accent.

He's back to sowing division among Americans. After frequently accusing #Biden of #racism without offering proof, he is now calling white women "perpetrators".

Somebody needs to show him this from @heidilifeldman

It is counterproductive to the cause of justice and liberation for all to sow division

@rameshgupta @mekkaokereke @heidilifeldman Yeah the white woman standing in the gas station today screaming for all to hear about immigrants ruining her country and how others couldn't know "how bad we have it here now." Whining that the Latino guys watching her show her entire, white, racist ass were laughing at her, she sure was being controlled by her husband. Who was nowhere in sight. Mekka is calling a spade a spade. We need to wake up and address this shit before it kills us all.

@mekkaokereke I have a mixed race friend who had a southern redneck (his words) grandmother. You can’t ever hear stories about her and think white women are innocent. She was racist to her own grandkids.

That, and who is in all those pictures spitting on the Black girls integrating schools? White women.

@mekkaokereke also painting racist women as “victims” who were “coerced” into being racist rather than actually having them face the consequences of their actions seems kind of sexist to me. It seems like the people doing this are portraying women as poor, helpless, naïve women who can be highly influenced by men 😔😔 like women can have their own opinions (good or bad) without a man telling them to have them.

@mekkaokereke there are multiple books from the Civil War and leading up to it that prove this point repeatedly.

I mean, it's been obvious for the whole of the country's history.

And two of the biggest racists of them all were the wives of Woodrow Wilson and Ronald Reagan.

      @ericj

For 20+ years, I've been accurately calling that the majority of white women voters will vote for the fashy candidate. Every election people get mad at me, and point to poll after poll pre-election, showing that "This Time It's different!(tm)." Then they get real quiet after the election.

You have no idea how badly I want to be wrong about this every election. This would be the most delicious crow ever eaten!

      But every election, I'm right.

      Every. Election.

@mekkaokereke re: why we're hoping white American women will finally vote against fascism, I think it's because fascism tend to go hand in hand with misogyny. From my side of the pond, it's baffling to see women vote _against_ their own bodily autonomy, and _for_ legitimization of violence against them.

In a remotely sane world, the election would be a blue landslide, if only because women figured "I'll vote for the non-rapist candidate, thank you very much".

I'm not sure I believe this Iowa poll. But if it holds, then this might be my chance to finally be wrong.

      I'll take it!

I will even set aside my feelings that the change didn't come from an increase in empathy for others or a decrease in racism, but an increase in self-preservation instinct. Glass half full!
