   The weirdest thing about Halloween last night is that it was almost entirely girls being escorted by women.

   Is this typical in the UK?

     @JetlagJen that's... really sad

     it was always mixed when kids came to my house in the US, and most kids when I was growing up weren't escorted, just in groups

     Boys over the age of 8 are *far* too cool (read: indoctrinated into toxic masculinity) to do anything fun, or be seen in the presence of a parent.
