Proprietary software violates the user's right to liberty and property. With proprietary software, the user cannot do with their property whatever they wish, and this restricts the very actions the person can do in their own lives. The author in effect kidnaps the user. Kidnapping is frowned upon and outlawed in many cultures.

Proprietary software is against the U.S. Constitution and the Ten Commandments. It's trespassing on property and it's kidnapping of people.

Do not steal. Do not kidnap.
