   I was shocked as anyone to see Geoffrey Hinton win a Nobel Prize in Physics — of all disciplines.

   He certainly contributed to AI’s development, but that doesn’t mean we need to take him seriously when he says AI superintelligence is on the horizon.

     @parismarx Quick reaction to your first paragraph: The story of "Weizenbaums secretary" should maybe be taken with a grain of salt, or at least his interpretation of it.
