@nyanide @creamqueen was leaking a ton from right here. looked the same color as the coolant, which was brown. didn't look like oil and the steam or smoke smelled horrible but didn't smell like smoke

@creamqueen @nyanide @psnacks All the times I did stupid things with this car and pushed it too hard over the last few days of having it flashed before my eyes

@psnacks @creamqueen @nyanide very possible. i hope the overheating didnt cause any damage to the engine

@meso @creamqueen @nyanide maybe the rust caused issues with circulation and when the coolant overheated the pressure just blew open the rusting weak spot?

@meso @creamqueen @nyanide yeah, your car would obv not run like this. Brown coolant kinda sounds like something in the loop just rusted, could also explain the leak

@jihadjimmy @nyanide @psnacks @meso when I bought my 940, I was driving it and my oil cooler lines for the turbo blew, cam seal blew, didn't have time to fix it so I brought it to a shop.
Later on down the line I've replaced my radiator hoses, spliced my heater core hose, oil cooler hoses (different from oil cooler lines) I've done brake hoses, and rubber accessory bushings

@jihadjimmy @nyanide @psnacks @meso tbh the cars are 100% solid its just all the rubber at 30 years old starts deteriorating rapidly. I had to replace pretty much every rubber hose in my car, plus the rubber bushings that the accessories have

@nyanide @psnacks @meso
Yeah I know exactly what the problem is, rubber rots and the best way to handle this is to replace every single rubber hose once one pops out.

@meso @nyanide there's no coolant on that side of the engine bay that's your ac line

@meso @nyanide could so be power steering lines there too, not sure how euro cars are configured. Also heater core. If it overheated it's definitely heater core. My heater core lines blew up so I cut them down to the nicest area and spliced a new line in place

@jihadjimmy @creamqueen @nyanide @psnacks it wasnt even that retarded i just revved it a little with the clutch in a tunnel and revved it around people when my friends asked me to. thats the worst it went through other than the driving way too fast over a speedbump once which mustve shaked some things inside
