   the other day i found out i can get 500mbps internet connection for £2 more than i'm currently paying for 70mbps

     like i can right now upgrade my internet connection to be like 7 times faster for essentially no extra money and im not even interested in doing it. i'll probably get round to it but i never notice that my internet is too slow for anything i do with it

     i think if i got a gigabit internet connection i would just end up becoming a data hoarder, and then i would spend enormous amounts of money and time on like. hanging around on those forums where they talk about hard drive reliability, and building custom NAS setups to store thousands of ISOs of like, idk. AOL installer CDs from the 90s

     i've never really noticed my internet connection being too slow since 2007. i think the jump from 56kbps to 2mbps was way more important than the jump from 2mbps to 8mbps to 16mbps to whatever. it's always been fine. it objectively feels the same speed now as it did when it was 2mbps. maybe even slower
