I think that the Emma Goldman quote, "If voting changed anything, they'd make it illegal," is misleading. The quote should instead be rephrased to something like, "If voting had the ability to eradicate capitalism, they'd make it illegal." That more accurately conveys that while voting can bring some positive reforms, under capitalism, it will never allow you to vote away capitalism, and that capitalist exploitation can not be voted away.
