   Rocoto 'Marlene' (Capsicum pubescens)
   The first ripened pod this year. They really need a long vegetation phase. It is not from a newly seeded plant but an overwintered three years old one.

     @morph Beautiful! Rocoto has an incredible warmth to it. I made bean and nut loaf last night with rocoto and it was perfect.

     @caban4 They don't like it too hot and no direct sun. They appreciate more Kali fertilizer than other peppers when they're blooming. Huge pots are important. If you want to raise from seed consider to start somewhen in December (sounds insane I know).

     @morph Thank you for all the tips! I originally had rocoto in Peru, and it grows in the mountains there. It was love at first bite.
