      @anathema population 123 right now. only 2 people are really sad right now. 18 sad people total. most people are happy. i have a gate to the cavern. the area ive secured in the cavern layer is now farmland. im working on moving some stuff to the new area.

      @anathema https://pomf2.lain.la/f/ig2gtcjj.tar.gz a lot of reptile men attacked the fortress. like 9 dwarves died :( our military is very well trained now. right now im moving all of the barracks down near the cavern gates. ive updated the burrows so that you assign dwarves to multiple at a time, like fortress+oldfortress+surface for example.

      magma forge area needs to be done and walled up with a ceiling so its safe. temple needs to be built i agreed to build one for a faith. a new well should be built, ideally not too far from the hospital, maybe i didnt build a hospital in the best spot idk. it would also be nice to muddy the rock floor at the farm so the farmland is less patchy. also expanding our cavern area so we can have a pasture would be nice.

      i havent unpaused yet but i got a moment to look it over. i love the location you choose - between magma & cavern layers

      i rarely get this far in the game - i know a lot of the systems in theory but im not used to managing over 50 dwarves. which is the fun of a fortress game i guess

      also we really make such different forts ! you probably noticed i love putting doors everywhere. its good because if the base is invaded - you can lock off sections & control enemy advancement. this organic design is something ive never seen before. ill try to follow your lead

      @anathema 2 tile halls are too small for 200 population fortresses. doors are annoying to set up in like 3+ tiles you can do it without a wall but its rly annoying so my fortresses usually dont have doors in the big halls. raised bridges are better for defense anyways since they cant be destroyed by building destroyers like giants.

      @anathema btw this is a 5x5 fortress which does get laggy on some computers once you reach high populations. i used to play on 3x3 fortresses at half speed on my t450 to avoid lag, but that was before multithreading. im not sure how good ur laptop is but if it is getting laggier i'd recommend using dfhack it has multiple performance plugins specifically fast heat and timestream. ive been using dfhack but with most gameplay plugins turned off. it adds a lot of good qol ui elements as well
