I am in a stunned state of shock that it worked.
I was ready to abandon Mastodon. What a fuck up of an upgrade.
Can some folks let me know if they see this message as an additional test to see if the changes took.

@jimcarroll Received
@vees Wow. Good to know. What a messed up upgrade process.
@vees The v 4.3.0 Mastodon upgrade is a bit of a dogs breakfast.
@jimcarroll What happened? (If its in a previous post just let me know)
I consider myself fairly Linux/geek conversant, but the docs were decidely lacking in guidance on Ruby and Node upgrades, other than to say they were necessary. So it was a process of going through steps, geenerating errors, chasing down the errors, etc etc.
Just not terribly friendly.
@jimcarroll I'm in the beta2 and don't remember any major issues
@vees Mine involved going out and talking to a large group of hungover people (that's what i do as a keynote speaker with a morning talk), navigating airports, walking a large room of 70+ executives through AI, and a 2 hour conference call with the PMO office of the UAE for an upcoming event talking about content. So maybe going through a hair raising upgrade process to end my week sort of stood out!
@jimcarroll To be fair, the rest of my week is *also* filled with undocumented Node and Ruby platform updates, so maybe it just blended in with the rest of the noise
