      There's a reason men in the past died from "mysterious ailments" more often. If poison was the only way to escape an abusive husband, some women turned to it.

      @RickiTarr Marriages used to be prisons for women. Once you were married, jobs could kick you out, unless the husband gave permission. When young white dya cis men talk about the sanctuary of marriage or the protection of marriage, they mean they have the safety, the enablement to do what they want to with their wifes.
