     @HauntedOwlbear It’s tabs. It’s always tabs. Why? Accessibility. No-one wants a screen reader saying ‘space space space space’. Also with tabs you can set the indentation size to suit your preference in your editor.

     @mrpjevans I strongly, strongly agree with this. But the problem is, it isn't always tabs.

     I'm a tab user (outside Python), but when I have to mesh with other people's code? Overwhelmingly spaces seem to prevail.

     @HauntedOwlbear My galaxy brain take is "It's ludicrous that we have to care at all about the orthography of invisible glyphs, and the actual failure here is that the magic space genies in front of us require us to have an opinion on this issue instead of just making decisions that solve the problem for us."

     If I looked at the text of a program you wrote but had to decide what Unicode code point every single character was before being sure I could compile it, we'd all agree that that was insane.

     @HauntedOwlbear Yeah, that’s a OSS issue I guess. In our work codebases anyone committing code with spaces has it converted to tabs by Prettier in the pipeline.
