As I had still been logged in to .org I thought it time to update my profile.
It is time to dump #WordPress. There are so many healthier projects out there for sites of all types and sizes.

Until July I had been in #WordPress for my entire tech career, having started really building with it in grad school.
While it’s true that I had been trying to step away from it since at least 2017 or so when I realized just how toxic the “community” is, I had tried to at least support the efforts of good people trying to change things. I kept moderating the jobs site and kept building tools for developing with it right up until this fall.
Now it’s clear the project doesn’t want change.
Perhaps, one day, the current implosion will force new leadership that actually cares about the values that the “community” and current leadership only virtue-signal. If that was to happen I might very well build with it again and maybe even recommend it. Until that point, however, it is dangerous to do so as I will not lead others into such a toxic environment.
@TomLarrow Thank you.
@chris from personal experience, it's tough when a piece of tech you have built a career on and identified with turns "sour"
Wish I had better things to say other than the whole situation sucks, and I empathize with you
@seth I won’t be holding my breath
@chris Here's hoping... right?
@chris neither am I.
@chris If you do you'd probably die. Oye!
