A really "oof" part of this discussion is how female faculty are essentially only evaluated relatively equivalently to male faculty when they give unusually high grades. You can in a certain sense think about this like being held hostage to being unreasonably lenient is the only way to have your other teaching characteristics/effort/achievement accurately perceived at all
Of course every woman I know teaching in STEM already knows this
