A former pastor of mine has a habit of arguing with people on social media when they post Bible verses that (without them adding any commentary) he assumes relate to current political and social issues.

If you post a Bible verse about being kind to other people, Christian pastors will yell at you about it. That's the status of evangelicalism in this country.
