     @machaddr Você fala de Berkeley? Creio que é versão 7. Não houve (eu não tenho) uma versão 5 publicada, precisaria olhar nos arquivos da TUHS. A 6 foi levada para Berkeley em um sabático do Ken Thompsn em 1976 mas a 7 é que serviu de base para os BSD. Precisaria olhar de novo o livro A quarter century of unix do Salus pra confirmar

     @xenotar Conheço sim, apesar de não ter sido publicado. Se não me engano, os sistemas operativos UNIX-Like foram desenvolvidos com base na versão 5, certo?

     @machaddr desses aí eu tenho rodando em emuladores o v7, 2.11BSD, 4.2 , 4.3BSD e o Xenix . Tenho um Solaris que seria o SunOS5 e devo ter um System III.
     Falta na árvore o Ultrix que eu acho que foi derivado do 4.2BSD

     Em tempo: outro que merece um artigo (imho) é o Coherent. Um clone do v7 escrito do zero, sem plágio, pela Mark Willians. Durante anos tentei conseguir uma cópia pirata mas só agora é que liberaram o sistema

     @machaddr Faltam uns ramos como o 2.11BSD , Aix, Apolo, HP/UX, Interactive, SCO mas já contém o Ultrix que foi fundamental na sua época

     LiteBSD is a variant of 4.4BSD operating system adapted for microcontrollers.
     Currently, only the Microchip PIC32MZ family is supported as a target.
     It is equipped with MMU with paging support, and 512kbytes of on-chip RAM.
     These resources are enough to build a compact networked embedded system.
