   btw, is it possible to mix different size disks in a single zpool? 🙂

     @mms yes, but in each VDEV the smallest sized disk will be emulated across the others leaving unused space. It won't do what you desire, unfortunately

     @mms yeah it would be 8 raw, 2 unusable until you replace the 4 with another 6
