     "Jake Tapper read Trump's comments to Glenn Youngkin and asked the governor of Virginia to condemn Trump's remarks. In a tortured five minutes, Youngkin refused, repeatedly claiming that Tapper was 'misinterpreting' Trump's remarks. When Tapper repeatedly said, 'I am reading his comments verbatim, let me show you the video,' Youngkin refused to condemn the comments and suggested that Trump didn’t mean what he said."

     Media outlets often hesitate to apply the word 'fascist' to a leader's actions or attitudes, and for good reason, given the historical connotations."

     The quote comes on page 179, and dates back to March 2023, when Milley and Woodward spoke at a Cohen Group reception in DC."

     Here's a link to the Jake Tapper video with Glenn Youngkin referred to in /4 and /5 above, in which Tapper read Youngkin the dictionary definition of fascism then read Trump's words to Youngkin, with Youngkin claiming Tapper was "misinterpreting" Trump and Tapper replying that he was reading Trump verbatim.

     The American left makes itself impotent over and over by refusing to build solidarity. The left tears away at its own, doing the work of the right for it.
