Response to DHH
I'll just remind everyone at the start that this a respectful debate, and DHH and I tried to get on a call but couldn't because we were both traveling. However, "Automattic is doing open source dirty" is an abomination of a headline, and David's second post Open source royalty and mad kings, is just sloppy. So I'm forced to reply publicly:

@photomatt Like I‘m not sure if I think you should get a communications person to help you or if this is what I actually want to see. Like I don’t understand why DHH is inserting himself here (and place he can realistically only loose). But then also I don’t understand why you think you need to reply to him.
I think the world has gone a bit mad, I‘m kind of willing to give you quite a bit of leeway, after all building Wordpress is an impressive feat, but I‘m not sure that is energy well spent.

@photomatt I get the impression you need help. Please talk with people you trust, are lifelong friends speaking freely & no yes people. Take some time off, go offline, reflect & reconsider your current course of action. Do not use .org & community as your weapons. They are not yours nor anyone else's to wield.
Your current actions are unnecessarily destroying 20+ years of trust & goodwill.
Please, at least temporarily, step back from WordPress.org & WordPress Foundation. Take care.
