In the 1990s, Lilly Ledbetter learned she was making thousands less than male counterparts at Goodyear. She sued, initially won, but was overturned bc SCOTUS said she should have filed within 180 days of the very first time Goodyear paid her less. Obama's first signed law was the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, which restarts the 180-day clock every time a worker receives a paycheck. Each paycheck is a potential violation-not just the first one. https://www.cnn.com/2024/10/13/us/lilly-ledbetter
