Kind of sad that the only time you ever see a male specific malady be addressed in a serious way is when games implement a "Color Blind Mode" as part of their inclusion and accessibility initiatives

  @DC5FAN Known a few men with the problem that ranged from "red and green look like the same shade of grey" to a guy whose color perception was fucked across the board, blue looks pink etc.

  @Homosoypiens People that only see grey have rods but not cones or something like that. The lesser kind I believe is missing some of the color receptors but has others.

  @DC5FAN I think the most common one is only for red and green, they can still see other colors which is why most games use red/blue for freind enemy distinction
  
  The common test for it is to identify a number in a series of colored dots made of red and green
  
  Normal people can see it but to the common colorblind man it's near invisible

    Ishihara test
    
    The Ishihara test is a color vision test for detection of red–green color deficiencies. It was named after its designer, Shinobu Ishihara, a professor at the University of Tokyo, who first published his tests in 1917. The test consists of a number of Ishihara plates, which are a type of pseudoisochromatic plate. Each plate depicts a solid circle of colored dots appearing randomized in color and size. Within the pattern are dots which form a number or shape clearly visible to those with normal color vision, and invisible, or difficult to see, to those with a red–green color vision defect. Other plates are intentionally designed to reveal numbers only to those with a red–green color vision deficiency, and be invisible to those with normal red–green color vision. The full test consists of 38 plates, but the existence of a severe deficiency is usually apparent after only a few plates. There are also Ishihara tests consisting of 10, 14 or 24 test plates, and plates in some versions ask the viewer to trace a line rather than read a number.
