   This paper seems to indicate that due to corrections erroneously applied to data to compensate for aging weather stations housing absorbing radiant heat, they believe with 95% confidence that our global warming increase has not been 1.5C (1.43C, really) but instead only 0.83C
   
   That is ... frightening. Our numbers are way off on how catastrophic it is

     @thomcat I don't think this is interesting from a skepticism POV. It just means we underestimated the severity of any increase

     @feld yeah, i’m not smart enough to read this and understand it, but the dude retweeted a PragerU video called “the good news about climate change” back in April, i’ll wait for an authority to peer review before i take any of it seriously.

     @feld ohhhh so you’re saying “wow, we’ve only warmed by half as much and the effects are already this calamitous, it’s going to be awful once we actually reach 1.5C!”
