Drove over to Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore last night to see the #aurora. Looking north, Chicago is off in the distance to the left. I caught my friend’s tripod setup in this shot. The bright golden color at the bottom is light pollution from Chicago picked up on the long exposure. We got there just as Mother Nature put on a dazzling show of reds and purples. The green was quite muted and not really as visible to the naked eye.
I never thought I’d say “popped over to Indiana to see aurora” in my lifetime.
