   my gitea (github) action to deploy code.sixohthree.com redownloads and reinstalls the same 150 packages every time and it makes me sad

   as far as i can tell, it was designed to work this way

     @jleedev yeah, if it could at least cache the downloaded files, that would be an improvement. i think the container very intentionally tries to keep the cache directory empty, which works against anything i could do with actions/cache

     @annika I decided to actually go read https://docs.github.com/en/actions/writing-workflows/choosing-what-your-workflow-does/caching-dependencies-to-speed-up-workflows and apparently it caches npm but *not* node_modules
