But try to imagine not being off on Christmas? Or just getting IDK a half day? (Provided you work at a place that even has holidays at all which is ANOTHER issue. )

There is always time not just to be unbothered with work on Christian holidays, but also to travel.
We could call this traditional, or practical given more people celebrate these holidays. And then there are the issues of synching across organizations. It's not an easy problem.
