@creamqueen Dookie Green Day started making it's way on my current classic rock station, but they've also been playing from American Idiot. Early 2000's still feels too new to me

@lewdthewides the early 2000s are almost as old now as the 80s were during the early 2000s
I think the problem is "classic rock" is a genre in itself, yet people are associating it with age. By this logic, The Adolescents (a punk band) should be on classic rock stations because they're from the 80s

@lewdthewides my radio station for alt rock (104.1) really enjoys playing imagine dragons and mostly red hot chilli peppers, occasional green day. one time a few years ago I heard kennyhoopla which was actually pretty cool. I dont listen to the radio, only when I had a job where it's all we had
